A hand-made post card, adorned with a modern paper-cutting inspired by traditional regional paper-cuttings. The artist interwove characteristic Warsaw symbols such as the Warsaw Mermaid and a stylized letter ‘P’ for Powstanie Warszawskie (the Warsaw Uprising) with a composition resembling traditional regional paper-cuttings. The centre of the paper-cutting is filled with a decorative shield. The caption running around it provides a Polish and Latin name of the city. The cutting precision deserves a closer look. All elements are extremely finely cut out and they fill he centre of the cutting with great precision. The effect is complemented by an interesting well-matched colour scheme, which allows to bring out the beautiful features of the pattern. There is a piece of paper stuck in the middle to write wishes on. The card is sold in a set with an envelope. We recommend it as a souvenir card from Warsaw.
