Big, three-cornered , black scarf with embroidered roses (Lowicz manual and machine embroidery). Embroidered motif depicts rose branches with flowers and buds. The rose, considered the finest flower of all, poses the most recognizable Lowicz embroidery motif. Placement of embroidered motif against a background of black fabric poses another characteristic feature – it emphasizes motif’s variegation and enables exposition of its depth. The scarf is finished with a fringe. It poses an elegant accessory emphasizing the femininity of attire.
Lowicz embroidery charms with beautiful colours and composition. It is made with various stitches directly on the tissue. Small bouquets of styled flowers on black velvet are the most characteristic motives of Lowicz embroidery. Rose is the queen of Lowicz embroidery, as it is believed to be the queen of flowers. Also pansies and other flowers are embroidered, often in beautiful bouquets. Due to the use of colourful threads of various shades, embroidered flowers look amazingly naturally and joyfully. Lowicz embroidery adorns not only tablecloths and doilies: it is typical of the region to put embroidery on objects of everyday use: handkerchiefs, belts or bags. Jewellery decorated with Lowicz embroidery is also popular.
