A hand-made postcard adorned with a traditional Kurpie Region postcard – the so-called ‘star’. A star is one of the two most popular forms of paper-cutting in Kurpie Region. It is single-coloured and the main feature is its shape. The paper cutting presented on a postcard is a typical example of a classical Kurpie star. It is very finely-cut, thanks to which an open-work pattern was achieved. The central element of the paper-cutting is an eight-armed star, which springs out into an open-work pattern. The paper cutting is made from blue paper. It was presented against a creamy background contributing to an interesting contrast. Additionally, the elegant style of the postcard is emphasized by high quality embossed paper to which the paper-cutting was attached. There is a piece of paper stuck in the middle to write wishes on. The card is sold in a set with an envelope. We recommend it as an Easter, Feast-day or Birthday card. It can also be an interesting supplement to a present.
